Bristol
City v Wycombe
Friday 17th December 1999
One of the division's most consistent left-backs will be up against his former Chairboy team-mates this Saturday at Ashton Gate.
Mickey Bell has so far excelled in his attacking full-back role, scoring three goals so far this season. His 74 per cent pass completion rate is commendable, while his extremely high number of crosses is complemented by his 31 per cent completion rate.
Steve Brown is also not afraid to have a crack at goal having netted once this season. He has also set up one goal, but his other passing has not been the most accurate. He is far more effective in the middle of the field winning the loose ball and dispossessing the opposition, evident from his 41 tackles, of which he has won 39 per cent.
Both players have been keen to carry out their defensive duties, but Brown's commitment to the cause mean that he has committed 24 fouls to Bell's 8.
A lot of pressure will be on Brown to break up play and provide good passes to the Wycombe forwards, while Bell will be looking to exploit any frailties on the right-hand side as he whips his balls across Martin Taylor's goal. It's going to be an interesting encounter…..
