LEAGUE TWO - ATTENDANCE SURVEY 2015/16
(Thursday 12th May 2016)
Wanderers' average League attendance for 2015/16 took a slight dip compared to the previous season. The final figure of 3,984 was the 13th best in the division - the same position Wycombe finished their League campaign. Top of the pile again were Portsmouth with an average of over 16,000 and an increase of 8%. Their play-off opponents, Plymouth Argyle had the 2nd best in the division with an average of 8,798 - a 19% increase on the previous season when they lost in the play-off semi-finals to Wycombe. Surprise package Accrington Stanley enjoyed a 24% increase in League attendances but their final average of 1,834 was second worst in the division behind Morecambe.

Wanderers highest League gate of the season at Adams Park was the 5,816 that saw the meeting with Portsmouth on 28th November 2015. The lowest gate was 2,812 for the midweek clash with Yeovil Town on 19th April 2016. Pompey's incredible home average saw them record the top 22 attendances of the season from their 23 home games. Plymouth's 14,008 versus Exeter City on 21st November was the 23rd highest League Two gate of the season and prevented Portsmouth from taking a clean sweep of the highest gates in the division.

At the other end of the scale, Accrington's 4,386 gate for the final game of the season versus Stevenage was 1,600 more than their previous highest League gate of the season. Stanley, who missed out on automatic promotion by a whisker on the final day of the season, recorded their League lowest gate of the season when 1,073 turned out for their home clash with Mansfield Town on 18th August 2015. However, the overall lowest League Two gate of the season went to Morecambe when 1,027 clicked through the turnstiles for the game with Dagenham & Redbridge on 1st December 2015.

Wanderers' average figure will be a disappointment to club officials that were hoping for a bounce from reaching Wembley in May 2015. The 3,984 figure is the third lowest seasonal average in the 26 seasons Wanderers have competed in the Football League - only seasons 2012/13 (3,720) and 2013/14 (3,680) have been lower. The highest seasonal Football League average at Adams Park remains the 6,681 figure recorded in the season proceeding the April 2001 FA Cup Semi-Final appearance.
