IBE CHANCE FOR FA CUP RECORDS
(Thursday 10th November 2011)
Jordon Ibe watched by fellow youngster Kadeem Harris, Manager Gary Waddock and Assistant Richard Dobson In the spotlight schoolboy Jordon Ibe will have the chance to set more records should he be selected to play in Wanderers' FA Cup First Round encounter at Fleetwood Town on Saturday 12th November. By playing he would become the youngest ever Wanderers player to appear in the FA Cup but if he scores he would become the youngest ever in the competition.

Ibe's spectacular goal against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday 29th October 2011 made him the youngest ever senior scorer for the Wanderers but if repeats the feat against Fleetwood he would beat the previous FA Cup record currently standing at 16 days and 25 days held by Sean Cato when he scored for Barrow Town in their qualiying game with Rothwell Town in September 2010. Even if Ibe fails to score but Wycombe avoid losing against the Conference side, he would still be young enough to break the record during the replay, or if Wycombe win, on the scheduled Second Round date of 3rd December - still five days before his 16th birthday.

It was Ibe's wonder strike versus Wedneday that was the catalyst for transfer speculation rarely seen at the Club before. Ibe drew press reports that claim he has already turned down a move to Fulham, while Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City are all considering a move to sign the London born schoolboy.

The Sun reported on Monday 31st October that Ibe has rejected a £100,000 move to Fulham because he has his sights set on joining a 'bigger' club. Reports suggest that Ibe has already had a trial with Liverpool at their Melwood training ground and have since gone on to claim that Manchester City have also been scouting the youngster.

Wanderers Manager Gary Waddock has refused to be drawn on the speculation of a move, but added, "We just want to make sure he goes on and fulfils that potential he's got. And possibly, with the talent he's got, he could go and play at the highest level." Ibe is currently still at school in North London but gets released for some training sessions with the Wanderers First Team.

Reports in the Manchester Evening News went on to claim that Manchester United were also interested in the 15 year old, while The Metro stepped up the anti with the sensational headline that Ibe had been 'offered multi-million pound package to snub Liverpool for City', going on to claim that Manchester City, 'have now made approaches to the players agent, offering a package that includes a house and car for the family, on top of a four-year development based contract.'

Meanwhile, Ibe has remained shielded from the media during the speculation but a goal against Fleetwood would set the ball rolling again.
