CLUB SECRETARY RESIGNS
(Thursday 28th July 2011)
Keith Allen The Club confirmed on Tuesday 26th July 2011 that Wanderers' long serving Club Secretary Keith Allen had resigned from his position at the Club. Allen, now 63 years old, has been with the Club for close to 12 years and cited a recent house move as his reason to leave his role at Wycombe and is keen to stress that he is not retiring. The Club are now advertising for a replacement for Allen within a role that would also cover similar responsibilities with London Wasps.

Allen joined Wanderers during the early part of the 1999/2000 season after previous Secretary Ian Moat had gone AWOL - during his spell with the Club, he has seen the Club relegated twice, promoted twice, reach two major cup semi-finals and as Company Secretary, administrated two changes in the constitution. Commenting on his time at Wycombe to the official website, he said "In the words of a very old song, 'even the bad times are good', and I have enjoyed every minute of my time at this wonderful club."

Prior to his time at Wycombe, the avid Aston Villa fan and cricket enthusiast spent 26 years in part-time admin roles with Atherstone Town and Nuneaton Borough, as well as similar duties with the Southern League. His admiration for Villa has seen him name both his previous family homes 'The Holte End', while his time at Wycombe has seen him earn a great reputation amongst Wanderers followers for his ability to diplomatically deal with a variety and sometimes difficult issues.

Commenting further on his time at Wycombe he said, "I feel extremely proud, fortunate and privileged to have spent so long at such a great little club, leaving with a heavy heart full of memories that no one can take away. Of course I am not retiring, just leaving to take up further employment and open the next chapter of my life, which I hope will be as fulfilling as the one just closing." Along with his wife, the Allen's recently completed a move to the South Coast and COTN understands that although offering to continue his role at Wycombe, working two days at home and four at Adams Park, this was rejected by the Senior Management Team at the Club and prompted the decision to step down after his lengthy spell at Adams Park. Meanwhile, paying tribute to Allen, Club Chairman Ivor Beeks added, "When you talk about football secretaries, Keith Allen will be one of the first names mentioned by clubs in the Football League. His knowledge and understanding of football affairs are second to none, and Keith will be one asset we will sincerely miss."

His last home fixture as Club Secretary of Wycombe Wanderers will on Saturday 20th August against Bury. He added "I would like to wish the club and all its supporters the very best of luck for the future and it goes without saying that the first results I look for each Saturday will be Wycombe Wanderers and Aston Villa, although not necessarily in that order!".
