However, after Stewart Castledine's header past Mark Osborn had been adjudged to have crossed the line four minutes later for an own goal it was Palace who took control. On 22 minutes Richard Harris powered through just right of centre before shrugging off the challenge of Ben Townsend and converting past Osborn from the edge of the box. Holligan saw an effort saved on 25 minutes before a stooping header by Steve Kabba from Andrejs Rubins' left wing cross made it 3-1 on 34 minutes. Six minutes into the second-half Kabba scored his second when he flicked the ball over Osborn after Wycombe were exposed down the Palace right. The humiliation continued on 71 minutes when Harris smashed the ball home at the far post following a poorly defended Palace corner from the left. Harris then completed his hat-trick with the goal of game on 75 minutes with an exquisite chip from around 30 yards that had Osborn clutching thin air. For Wycombe this was another disappointment considering the experience within the side. Stuart Roberts had a quiet game on the right wing and Andy Baird still looked short of pace. Too many passes went astray and there would have been very little to get the onlooking Lawrie Sanchez excited about. Wanderers best efforts came through Holligan who at least forced Palace 'keeper Alex Kolinko to save on a couple of occasions. Final Score Wycombe 1 Crystal Palace 6
