CE WANTS REGULAR FORUMS
(Tuesday 23rd April 2002)
Simon Monkman Wanderers' new Chief Executive Simon Monkman has said he hopes to arrange regular forums following the success of his first venture in front of a packed Vere Suite audience on Tuesday (23rd April). Around 300 Wycombe fans saw a mixed panel headed by Manager Lawrie Sanchez but also including Safety Officer Frank Knowles, Director of Sales & Marketing Mark Austin, Food & Beverage Manager Tony Leese, Financial Controller Charles Colton, Football Secretary Keith Allen and Press Officer Alan Hutchinson.
A variety of questions were fielded including team selection, the Wasps situation, access to and from Adams Park and the financial standing of the Club.
The familiar subject of communication was also raised and Monkman said that this area was one of the key roles that he was brought in to address and he promised improvements following further criticism at the forum. Monkman said the Club were working very hard to bring about an improvement but added "It doesn't happen overnight and it takes a bit of time to work out the communication plan and the put the right mechanics in place to deliver it." The improvements will see a newsletter that will be issued to all the 'stakeholders' of the club on a "no worse than quarterly basis" and Monkman also revealed that the website is now being run by a team of three or four people. He accepted the criticism by adding "There are elements of communications that went well but I don't think was consistent and I don't think it was sufficiently regular. We're really trying to move it forward and I would be very disappointed if in six months time the view is still that communication is poor"
