LADIES CRUCIAL GAME CALLED OFF
(Sunday 17th March 2002)
Wycombe Wanderers Ladies FC crucial game with Stocklake in the Women's Regional Southern - Northern Division, set for this Sunday (17th March) at Adams Park, has been called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
WWLFC are currently leading the League and were hoping to be take on 2nd placed Stocklake who trail Wanderers by three points but have a game in hand. It was Stocklake who became the only side to take points off the Wanderers this season when they won 2-1 at the Heywoods Sports Ground in Aylesbury back in December. Wanderers have since gone to register six successive victories and scored 40 goals in the process.
Wanderers Ladies in action against Stocklake earlier this season - Heather Scutchings and Sophie Bowden in Wanderers white change strip Last season WWLFC finished as runners-up in their division and missed out on promotion after being defeated in a play-off.
The team usually play on The Rye at High Wycombe but the game with Stocklake was specially arranged for the more glamourous surroundings of Adams Park. The game is now hoped to be re-arranged for April.
