SANCHEZ - "I'M STAYING HERE"

Lawrie SanchezLawrie Sanchez re-confirmed his commitment to Wycombe Wanderers when he answered fans concerns of recent links with the Manager's position at Wimbledon. Speaking on an 1170am phone-in last week, Sanchez said "I'm staying here. I've been very well received by everybody at the Club and the fans. I'm here to do a job and my job is to get this team into the First Division".
During the phone-in Sanchez also spoke of his plans to strengthen the Wycombe squad, the possible return of Keith Scott, how he sees Sean Devine, Jermaine McSporran and Andy Baird working together and the great Internet 'Hoofball' conspiracy.

AWAY END GIVEN THE OK
(Thursday 11th May 2000)
Wycombe District Council voted with a vast majority to accept the plans to double the size of the 'Away End' at Adams Park when they sat at May's planning meeting. Councillors supported the application on the grounds that it would improve safety aspects at Adams Park. However, the Council will force the Club to ensure the total ground capacity never exceeds 10,000 by signing a legal document.

SANCHEZ RELEASES FOUR
(Wednesday 10th May 2000)
Lawrie Sanchez has begun his summer clear-out with the departure of four First Team squad members. The players being shown the door are ex-Youth Teamers Nicky Leach and Eddie Gray, striker Richard Thompson and midfielder Lee Holsgrove. Youth Team players Stuart Reeks, Paul Johnson, Ryan Gostick and Kevin Powell have also been released.

NEW CONTRACTS FOR TWO
(Wednesday 10th May 2000)
Wanderers Canadian defender Mark Rogers has been rewarded with a new three year contract following an impressive run in the First Team during the second-half of the 1999/2000 season. After making his First Team debut in October, Rogers has won many plaudits for his performances in the centre of defence and at right-back.
20 year old striker Danny Senda has also picked up a new three year deal. The ex-Southampton apprentice made his full First Team debut in January and scored his first goal during the 3-1 victory at Wrexham the following month.

BLUES PASS FINALS AT CAMBRIDGE
(Saturday 6th May 2000)
Mo Harkin models the new red and white quartered kit - on sale 1st June 2000Wycombe finished the 1999/2000 campaign with a 2-1 victory at Cambridge United thanks to a late goal by Jermaine McSporran.  Lawrie Sanchez gave Football League debuts to Youth Teamers Ben Townsend and Roger Johnson - Youth Team Player of the Season, Johnson, became the youngest ever Wanderers player to play in the Football League at 17 years and 8 days.

BLUES IN THE RED
(Saturday 6th May 2000)
The Wanderers donned the new red and white quartered change kit for the first time on Saturday at Cambridge. The kit will replace the yellow kit as change colours next season and is on sale at Wanderers in Town from Tuesday 1st June priced at £42.99 for an adults shirt and £32.99 for kids sizes.


HIGH STRENGTH BLUES GOES FLAT
(Tuesday 2nd May 2000)
Wycombe Wanderers Reserves ended their miserable season in the Avon Insurance Combination with a 1-0 defeat at Millwall. The Wanderers line-up included eight first team regulars - including top scorers Sean Devine and Jermaine McSporran.

SEAN GETS NEW DEAL
(Monday 1st May 2000)
Sean Devine - has signed a new four year deal with WycombeClub leading scorer Sean Devine has been rewarded for his goal scoring exploits by being offered an extension to his existing contract with Wycombe Wanderers. Devine, Wycombe's top scorer in any Football League season, has agreed the deal that runs until the end of 2002/2003 season. Speculation has been rife of moves to several Division One sides but Devine seems more than happy to stay with the Club that resurrected his career from a nightmare scenario at Barnet. Since joining Wycombe, Devine has scored 33 goals in 58 appearances.
