ALL THERE IS TO SAY AND KNOW ABOUT WYCOMBE WANDERERS ON THE INTERNET.... |
IT ALL SOUNDS VERY
EASY - TAYLOR (Friday 9th March 2001) Leicester City boss Peter Taylor is not under estimating the problems that Wycombe may cause at Filbert Street. The Gillingham boss commented "It all sounds very easy but we know for a fact that we have got a very hard 90 minutes ahead of us. Lawrie Sanchez and Terry Gibson will come here with a very organised side. I am sure that they will be a very hard side to beat and it could provide us with a tougher game than Bristol City" City beat off the threat of the Bristol club in the last round at Filbert Street but were cushioned by early goals from Dean Sturridge and an 'OG' from The Robins' Matt Hill. Muzzy Izzet added a late penalty to make the final score 3-0 but between the early strikes and the spot-kick, the visitors hit the woodwork twice and gave Taylor plenty to think about. "The danger is that the supporters think that the game is a foregone conclusion. But I am appealing to them to be patient. The fact that Wycombe are a lower league club does not mean that we are going to score quickly and win the game easily." added Taylor Taylor only took over at Filbert Street in the summer from former Wycombe guru Martin O'Neill and if following in the footsteps of the Irish legend wasn't enough, he's since been heavily involved in the England set-up. However, on Saturday his mind will firmly be on trying to get City into their first FA Cup semi-final for 19 years. "What we have to ensure is that we play to the best of our ability and ensure that we show everyone we are the Premiership side." |
