![]() (Friday 12th January 2001) Two second half goals from Andy Rammell turned a potentially depressing defeat into a confidence boosting victory as Wycombe won for the first time ever against Luton. Wycombe trailed 1-0 at the break after Adam Locke's 20 yarder had hit the post and then cannoned off the back of Martin Taylor's head and into the Wycombe net. Three half-time substitutions turned the game as Rammell took his goalscoring tally for the season to ten in League and twelve overall. The £75,000 paid to Walsall back in September now looks like one of the bargain finds of the season by Lawrie Sanchez. After the match Rammell said "The gaffer gave us a roasting at half-time, we couldn't have played any worse." Rammell has now bagged 10 League goals for the Chairboys and added "It's a massive three points, we've had to work hard second-half but in the end we've deserved it." Influential second-half substitute Martyn Lee was also singled out for praise on the live SKY coverage, he said "I don't play often but when I do I enjoy it". Wycombe jump back to 8th place in the table after the victory at Kenilworth Road. ![]() Luton Town 1 Wycombe 2 - match report >>> Return to News Desk... |
