Background:
Dan Udoh's move to Wycombe Wanderers was confirmed on 3 July 2024 following his rejection of a new contract with fellow League One side Shrewsbury Town. He had scored 38 goals for The Shrews in 181 appearances during five seasons at The New Meadow. He had previously spent most of his time playing non-League football, including a season with Ilkeston where his scoring record earnt him a deal with League One Crewe Alexandra in March 2016. He subsequently returned on loan to non-League football before a permament move to Telford United in July 2018. He was a prolific goal scorer during his season with Telford, scoring 26 times for the National League North outfit.

It was his goal scoring record that helped attract the attention of Shrewsbury Town, signing the then 22-year-old on a two-year deal in May 2019. A highlight of his time with The Shrews was when he scored the opening goal against Liverpool at Anfield in a 2021–22 FA Cup 3rd round game on 9th January 2022, but Shrewsbury went on to lose 4–1. Udoh finished the 2021–22 season as Shrewsbury's leading goalscorer with 16 goals in all competitions but played only seven games the following season after injuring his anterior cruciate ligament in August 2022.
