2023/2024 Wycombe Wanderers - - - -
Background:
Wycombe Wanderers announced on Thursday 14th September 2023 the signing of 26-year-old goalkeeper Franco Ravizzoli. The Argentine born player had spent the two previous seasons with Milton Keynes in League One - making nine First Team appearances. He originally played for Independiente and Quilmes youth teams in Argentina before joining the academy of River Plate towards the end of 2012 at the age of 15. He progressed to reserve team football with River Plate before leaving in mid-2018 to spend time with Merlo and Morón, both in the second-tier of Argentina football.

In January 2020 he signed for Eastbourne Borough in the National League South after being brought over by Borough's player-assistant manager Sergio Torres (a former player with Wycombe Wanderers). He played 33 times for Eastbourne across two Covid-19 affected seasons, before signing for Milton Keynes in June 2021. He was allocated No.25 in the Wycombe squad for the 2023/24 campaign.

He would make his Wanderers debut in a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace U21's in a Football League Trophy group stage tie. Five more appearances would follow in subsequent ties in the same competition but his breakthrough came following a red-card to first choice 'keeper Max Stryjek in the League One game at Stevenage on 24 Feb 2024. The subsequent three-game ban for Strykek saw him impress boss Matt Bloomfield enough for him to retain his place for the remainder of the season, including a Wembley appearance v Peterborough United in the final of the Football League Trophy. Ironically, it was Stryjek's Man of the Match performance in the semi-final victory over Bradford City that earnt Wanderers place at the national stadium.
