Background:
The former youth player with Charlton Athletic, joined Wanderers on 26th August 2021 on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee from then League Two Bristol Rovers. He'd spent one season of a two year deal with Rovers, netting 9 goals in 49 appearances, before opting for a return to League One with Wycombe.

He had originally made his pro debut as a 19-year-old while at Charlton but took in loan spells with Bromley (twice) and Colchester United before a permanent move to Gillingham in June 2018 on a two-year deal. His move to Wycombe came after a reported bid to Bristol Rovers from Lincoln City was turned down - the offer not meeting the £150,000 tribunial set fee that Rovers had paid Gillingham for his move to the Memorial Ground in September 2020.

Commenting at the time of his move to Wycombe, Manager Gareth Ainsworth said: "Brandon caught our eye a few years ago playing for Colchester and we’ve followed his progress ever since. We feel he’s the right fit for our squad and how we want to play, and we’re really pleased to bring him here. He’s an all-rounder who can score all types of goals, with his head and both feet, and his hold-up play is a big asset as well. It’s taken a lot of hard work to get this deal done, because there was a lot of interest in him from other clubs, but we’re delighted that he’s now a Wycombe Wanderers player."

His first goal for Wycombe came in spectacular fashion when he opening the scoring in the Football League Cup tie with Manchester City at the City of Manchester Stadium on 21 Sep 2021. His 22nd minute goal stunned the home crowd and set the travelling support into a frenzy. The lead lasted seven minutes, with City eventually running out 6-1 winners - however, Hanlan's strike will go down forever in Wanderers' folklore as the goal that gave the Chairboys the lead against the English Champions.

Having scored 11 goals in 79 appearances during his first two seasons at Wycombe, the early stages of the 2023/24 campaign saw speculation increase of a departure from Adams Park, culminating in reported bids from then fourth tier Wrexham. However, as the August 2023 transfer deadline drew to close, the deal never materialised. On 11 Nov 2023, Hanlan suffered a serious injury in the home League One meeting with Stevenage. It was later revealed as a cruciate ligament injury and one that would require an estimated 12 months to recover from surgery.

The injury sidelined Hanlan until a substitute appearance in the FA Cup meeting with York City at Adams Park on 2 Nov 2024. He scored in his next appearance as Wanderers beat Crawley Town on the Football League Trophy but his League appearances were mainly limited to substitutions. He netted again in Wycombe's 2-0 FA Cup 3rd Round meeting with Portsmouth but on 31 Jan 2025 it was announced he would be joining fellow League One side Stevenage on loan for the remainder of the 2024/25 season. On 20 May 2025 it was confirmed he would released from Wycombe at the end of his contract.
