Background:
On the morning of Tuesday 11th July 2023, the Club announced the signing of 19-year-old midfielder Kian Breckin on a season long loan deal from Premier League Champions Manchester City. The youngster arrived at Adams Park having joined City aged 11 and progressing through their U18 side and then scoring eight times for the City U21 title-winning side in 2022/23. He also made three appearances for City in the Football League Trophy, with games against Mansfield Town, Derby County and Grimsby Town. Aside from those three ties, his time at Wycombe will be his first foray into senior football. He was allocated No.8 in the Wycombe squad for the 2023/24 season.

Wycombe Wanderers Manager, Matt Bloomfield, commenting at the time of the deal, said: "Kian has been on our radar for a long time and we’re thrilled that we’ve been able to bring him here. Scott Mitchell, our new Head of Recruitment, has done a brilliant job in getting the deal over the line after weeks and weeks of hard work. There were a lot of clubs in for him but we know that the environment we’ve got here - in terms of the way we are going to play and the culture of looking after and developing players on and off the pitch - makes this an attractive place for players to come."

After a few weeks of speculation of an early return to his parent Club, on 4th January 2024, Wycombe confirmed his departure back to the Premier League Club. No reason was stated by either club on the reason for his early return to City.
